An OB/GYN is a physician specializing in obstetrics (pregnancy and childbirth) and gynecology (women’s reproductive health). They diagnose and treat conditions related to the uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes, and breasts, and provide care through all stages of life—from your first period through pregnancy, menopause, and beyond.

You should schedule your first gynecologic exam around age 18, or sooner if you’re sexually active or experiencing issues like irregular periods, pelvic pain, or unusual discharge. Your first visit typically includes a conversation about your health, a general physical exam, and depending on your needs, a pelvic exam or Pap smear.

The answer is in the question 🙂 every year

Our practice offers a full spectrum of women’s health services, including annual wellness exams, personalized prenatal care, gynecologic procedures, advanced ultrasound imaging, fertility consultations, and menopause management.

We recommend scheduling as soon as you confirm your pregnancy, ideally between 4-6 weeks. Early visits help us provide optimal support and care planning from the very beginning.

At your first prenatal visit, we’ll confirm your pregnancy and perform a full medical history review. You can expect a physical exam, bloodwork, a urine test, and possibly an ultrasound. This visit is also a great time to ask questions, discuss prenatal vitamins, and establish a plan for your care moving forward.

Most visits with Dr. Roofeh will include an ultrasound to monitor your baby's growth and development throughout pregnancy. Ultrasound imaging is a safe, non-invasive tool that allows us to closely follow your pregnancy and provide personalized care at each stage. The frequency of ultrasounds may vary based on your individual needs and medical history.

Common early symptoms include fatigue, nausea, breast tenderness, mood swings, and mild cramping. While these are usually normal, you should contact your doctor if you experience severe abdominal pain, heavy bleeding, fever, or dizziness.

Yes. We offer state-of-the-art prenatal screening and diagnostic options starting at 6 weeks, including non-invasive genetic testing, in a supportive and private setting.

Dr. Roofeh has a newest Sneak Peak blood test that can tell the gender as early as 6+ weeks (not covered by insurance). He also has the newer NIPT Kits that can test Gender at 8 weeks.

Absolutely. A preconception visit gives us the opportunity to review your medical history, lifestyle, and fertility markers. We’ll also begin prenatal supplementation and discuss next steps.

Yes. We provide thoughtful, evidence-based evaluations for individuals and couples. Should advanced treatment be needed, we collaborate with top fertility specialists in Beverly Hills and Los Angeles.
